Interlochen is located in beautiful northern Michigan, its 1,200 acre campus nestled between two all-sports lakes. Look at the palm of your right hand, it's similar in shape to a map of Michigan. Interlochen is located up near where the tip of your pinkie meets the ringfinger. It's about a 4 hour drive from Detroit and 6 hours from Chicago. We call it "northern Michigan." Our summers are warm and sunny and there's plenty of water and woods for play. Winters are snowy so we have skiing, skating, sledding, snowmobiling, snowshoeing and a lot of other snow sports. Interlochen's campus lies between two lakes and has many rustic buildings, performance halls and other nooks and crannies.
