Michigan Real Estate & Relocation Guide
Jenison, Michigan
Population: 17,211
Located in Ottawa County
Jenison, known as a conservative community, is located between Grandville and Grand Rapids on the east and Hudsonville on the west. The main traffic flow is east-west on Chicago Drive (M-21). It is a friendly community, one of the largest villages in the area, and is served by a relatively large school system (especially well-know for its music program). Lake Michigan beaches are a short drive to the west and there is easy access to the Gerald R Ford freeway at Chicago Drive. Also known as I-196, it will take you either west toward Holland and Saugatuck or east to Grand Rapids and beyond to Lansing.
Jenison is home to a new library and new Township offices. There is lots of shopping in Jenison, including a Meijer superstore and Target. The vast new Riverside Mall, all the talk of the area, is very near ( to the southeast) and there are several other malls within short drive to Grand Rapids or Holland.
The spiritual needs of the residents are served by several churches of a variety of denominations. A new, multi-acre park is planned for along the Grand River.
The popularity of Jenison is probably due mostly to its small town charm yet easy access to all the amenities of a big city. Check it out!
