Kingsley, Michigan

Population: 1,469

Located in Grand Traverse County

Kingsley is located in the southern part of Grand Traverse County on M-113. This town was first settled in 1874 when the Grand Rapids & Indiana Railroad ran a line there for harvesting lumber. It was first named Paradise, (the same as the Township), in 1876 but renamed Kingsley in 1882 after its first postmaster, Judson Kingsley. Today, Kingsley is primarily an adjunct community to the growing Traverse City area, but still retains it’s small-town atmosphere, with several stores, shops and its own school system.
