Situated in the northeastern corner of Oakland County, Rochester Hills is characterized by it rolling, wooded hills and natural water resources. The City of Rochester Hills has a complete choice of housing styles and price ranges. Our housing stock ranges from some historic homes built in the late 1800s by our early settlers to the newest and most modern homes. Single-family homes range from small houses of about 1200 square feet to exotic homes exceeding 15,000 square feet. We also offer rental apartments, attached and detached condominium units. Rochester Hills is and continues to be a desirable community to live in.
The City of Rochester Hills is fortunate to be served by two award-winning public school districts providing K-12 education, both ranked within the top of the state. Our public schools are held in high regard for their academic achievements, and also for their long-running reputation for success in all areas of competition, whether it be sports, cheerleading, debate, or youth in government programs. The district's mission is to "help students attain the necessary skills and knowledge to become lifelong learners." The City also enjoys numerous private schools, both religious and secular. Excellent post-secondary education is available at four-year Rochester College, and at Oakland University, a major State of Michigan public university. Both institutions maintain important collaborative roles in the community.
Recreational opportunities abound. Rochester Hills is conveniently located just south of the Bald Mountain State Recreation Area and north of the Rochester-Utica Recreation Area, and minutes away from the Stoney Creek Metropark. Area parks offer access to the Clinton River, with its fishing, canoeing, wooded trails, ice skating, and x-country skiing. Other parks offer ball fields, playgrounds, picnicking, golf, paved bike paths, mountain biking, and educational centers. A Tree City USA for decades, we have four-season fun for residents and visitors alike. The new Indoor Ice Arena, and the Meadowbrook Music Center, are just two of many indoor venues for entertainment.
The Rochester area encompasses the cities of Rochester, Rochester Hills and Oakland Township. It's a great place to raise kids with lots of family-oriented activities. Close to major shopping including Great Lakes Crossings and Lakeside Malls, downtown Rochester affords some of the best specialty stores and world class restaurants in the area. The Chrysler Tech Center and Automation Alley are minutes away. Our ultimate goal is to maintain Rochester Hills as the preeminent place to live, work and raise a family. We have it all.
