Eagan is frequently cited as one of the fastest growing cities in the metropolitan area. Interstate highways 35E, 494 and Cedar Avenue Freeway have made this southern suburb accessible to virtually the entire Twin Cities area. In 1984, Eagan was named a "Star City" by the Minnesota Department of Economic Development.
