Dassel Medical Center

Together, our combined strengths and shared expertise provide a continuum of care to those living in our area. Although the hospital and nursing home are based in Hutchinson, approximately 50 percent of the patients we serve come from areas other than Hutchinson. Hutchinson Area Health Care is committed to meeting the health care needs of our area. We continue to add and change programs and services in all our facilities as the changes in health care dictate.

We offer some of the most advanced technology available to a rural hospital, and our association with Allina Health System links us to the services available through many major health care providers.

Hutchinson Medical Center
The Hutchinson Medical Center is an independently owned medical clinic located in the same medical complex as Hutchinson Community Hospital. Full-time health care providers include family practice, general surgery, internal medicine, OB/GYN and pediatric specialists, as well as nurse practitioners. In addition, more than 25 courtesy/ consulting specialists are available for patient visits in a variety of specialties, including allergy, audiology, cardiology, dermatology, ear, nose and throat, gastroenterology, orthopedics, nephrology, neurology, rheumatology and urology.

The Hutchinson Community Development Commission, which is the city's economic development authority, is a progressive, pro-active organization that has as its focus three main objectives. These are the retention and expansion of existing business, creation of new business and the recruiting of new businesses to the city.

Hutchinson Event Center
The center provides a gathering place for area groups to celebrate special events, enjoy cultural and educational pursuits, and partake in a wide variety of other social and recreational activities. Hutchinson Event Center is owned and operated by the City of Hutchinson through its Park, Recreational and Community Education Department and may be scheduled for use on a rental basis.

Nearly 150 years ago, settlers stopped on a river bluff, looked out over a scenic river valley and exclaimed, "We have found it!" They found what they had been looking for - a quiet and peaceful place to build and grow - the future site of Hutchinson. Since then, the City of Hutchinson has grown to more than 12,000 residents, with established schools, churches, businesses, industries, recreation and sports complexes. Fine lodging, dining and convention facilities have also become a part of the Hutchinson community.

The Crow River flowing through the city bears the name of the great Dakota Chief Little Crow. A statue erected in his honor gazes across the rippling water near the Main Street dam. In Hutchinson, we're expecting you to find some of the same things the early settlers found - a beautiful and relaxing place with friendly, caring people.
