Agriculture is still the main source of employment in the area, while Milaca Industrial Park is a vital home for several manufacturing firms. The natural resources most commonly exploited in the Milaca area are sand and gravel deposits left by glacial deposition. Large stands of hardwood forests and granite deposits are two more of the area's resources important to the local economy.

Other activities include golf, tennis, bowling, and cross-country skiing. We have an outstanding stable for horseback riders, a fine local theatre, and a hockey rink. Mille Lacs Lake, in the northern part of the county, contains many resorts and offers excellent fishing and water sports.

Reineke Park in Milaca is a great park with picnic tables and amusement for the kids. It is a very shady park, with plenty of trees and peacefully quiet. Trimble Park is very well kept, not as shady as Reineke Park, but also has playground equipment, carved statues, picnic tables.

Downtown Milaca contains an interesting little gingerbread house, white with red trim. Guess whose mailbox is in the front? Santa's! Milaca is one of the places where Santa rests and reads his mail. I guess he likes skiing too! Milaca is a wonderful little gem of a town, with wonderful amenities; and a great location. For the best of all worlds, Milaca is the number one choice!
