The cities of Mankato/North Mankato offer much to their residents. World-class shopping, professional sports (Twins, Vikings, Timberwolves), and numerous cultural events are there, but most residents of Mankato/North Mankato find plenty of activities right at home! Theater, a symphony orchestra, ballet, and several art galleries are here. Excellent dining can be had at a wide variety of restaurants, cafes, pubs, sports bars, and coffee houses. Shopping is great at the newly created and recently expanded River Hills Mall. Festivals take place winter and summer including an annual Native American Pow Wow. Mankato is home to the summer training camp of the Minnesota Vikings and fans and media come from all over the nation to take part.
Minnesota is known for its lakes, and the Mankato/North Mankato area has many, plus some beautiful river valleys.
