A body of water named the Bay of St. Louis separates Mississippi Gulf Coast's four lanes of concrete and neon from the first small town in Hancock County. Crossing the Bay Bridge and turning onto Beach Boulevard, you experience the Gulf Coast "Unplugged" in Bay St. Louis. The Old Town District is a historic beach side niche full of antique shops, art galleries, and specialty shops. Also known for its outstanding restaurants and entertainment spots, the Old Town offers a variety of local favorites and seafood specialties in casual and fine dining settings.

Old Town is lined with small shops, boutiques, antique stores and galleries, all of which encourage you to get out of your car and walk. When you do, you'll find that it's much easier to view the six murals that add luster to the scene. You can take rest stops during the day to refresh your shopping spirits, since Old Town has no shortage of inviting cafes, restaurants, and coffee houses. And if you can't seem to fit it all in one day in the Bay, you can spend the night in one of their charming Bed & Breakfast Inns or convenient Hotels.

A trip to Old Town recalls a journey to the past. Just like our recently renovated Depot District, many areas have been restored to reflect a more relaxed and quieter time.

All activities in city parks are open to the public at no charge. There may be minimal registration fees for participants in specific activities. Activity registration is open to city and county residents and many activities include children and families from Waveland and the unincorporated areas.
