Bolivar Missouri was selected as the safest small town in America in 1995 and was subsequently selected in the top one hundred small towns in America in 1996/1997. The friendliest of our community still shines through with people speaking and saying hello as you walk down the street. Our growth rate has been substantial however, we have maintained the small town atmosphere. We have kept our tax rates down while meeting the needs of the community. We are proud to call Bolivar Missouri home and a great place to for a family and to raise our children.

Bolivar is the home of Southwest Baptist University, Citizens Memorial Hospital (a 75 bed hospital) and has a brand new airport and a new 18 hole country club. Bolivar is the county seat for Polk county. Additionally, Bolivar is a one hour and 20 minute drive to Branson Missouri for all types of entertainment.

Bolivar is a fast growing community that has maintained that small town flavor. You still get a smile and a hello when you walk down the street. Bolivar is blessed with a full service hospital, a great school system, solid community support, and a willingness to look into the future to ensure the best for our community and our children.
