Welcome to Fort Leonard Wood, headquarters for the Total Force's Maneuver Support Center (MANSCEN). The Mission of MANSCEN is to provide the Nation with values-based individuals, leaders, and teams trained in basic combat skills and chemical, engineer, military police and transportation disciplines who are prepared for success in any future environment. MANSCEN develops concepts, doctrine, force structure, material requirements and experiments to ensure the vitality of the Chemical, Engineer, and Military Police Regiments.
Established in 1940 as a basic training center, Fort Leonard Wood has launched the military careers of over three million men and women. In addition to engineer basic and advanced individual training, known as One Station Unit Training (OSUT), the 1st Engineer Brigade also hosts the Engineer Officer Basic Course (EOBC) and Engineer Officer Advanced Course (EOAC).
The post welcomes the public. Be sure to tour the Mahaffey Museum Complex housing museums for three Army branches - Engineer, Chemical and Military Police. There is also an authentic and complete World War II company area available for a walking tour.

Fort Leonard Wood is on 100 square miles of rugged Ozark wilderness. With the addition of the Military Police and Chemical schools to the Army Engineer School, Fort Leonard Wood became the Maneuver Support Center for the Army. Now that the two new schools are in place, the Fort is projected to have a nearly $600,000,000 impact on the region.
Throughout its growth, Fort Leonard Wood's soldiers and their family members have enjoyed an outstanding quality of life. Children attend a top-ranked school district and activities on post are plentiful. The new multi-million dollar Davidson Fitness Center and new Child Development Center, along with a superb hospital and many other facilities and amenities, make Fort Leonard Wood a premier Army installation.
Fort Leonard Wood is now the proud home of the U.S. Army Military Police School which provides training to all branches of the military as well as government agencies and U.S. allies in areas of law enforcement, field tactics, human rights, Counter-Terrorism, Family Advocacy, Counter-Drug Operations and Force Protection.
Additionally, the MANSCEN NCO Academy hosts the Primary Leadership Development Course (PLDC), Basic Noncommissioned Officer Course (BNCOC), Advanced Noncommissioned Officer Courses (ANCOC) and Drill Sergeant Schools.
Fort Leonard Wood is the home of Walker Museum, also known as the U.S. Army Engineer Museum, featuring exhibits on the history of Fort Leonard Wood, combat and topographic engineer exhibits, a World War II compound, as well as weaponry, demolitions, airborne and amphibious exhibits. Over 100,000 people visit the museum each year. The popularity is expected to grow with the future addition of Chemical and Military Police exhibits.
