One of the first two high schools in Polk County was located at Humansville. And for many years the only hospital was in Humansville. Col. James G. Human discovered the big spring southwest of where Humansville developed in 1833 and settled there on a permanent basis in 1834, building a cabin near the site. It was incorporated officially on May 30,1872. Humansville certainly experiences all four seasons. Being near the Ozarks gives the region its own special beauty however. The snow falls softly on and near the lakes and transforms the town into a fairytale, white and pristine. Several types of properties are available in Humansville. A typical 3 bedroom, 1 bathroom home on several acres would be about $62,000-$65,000. There are also modular homes as well estates for those with a little more spending money! The quality of any community depends of the character of its residents. And it is obvious the people of Humansville care! The warmth and friendliness of the country combined with the vitality of the city make Humansville a great choice for those who won't be satisfied with anything less than the best!
