Lamar is a small town on the northwest side of Missouri. Located conveniently near primary interstate exits, Lamar is a great rural town that offers inroads to nearby Carl Junction and Joplin.
Unemployment is extremely low in this entire region, and many training programs are available, so opportunities for career advancement are numerous. The trucking industry represents a large segment of the jobs, as nearby Joplin is considered the "Crossroads of America".
Lamar, like the rest of the state, definitely experiences all four seasons. You know when summer has arrived - temperatures have been known to peak up to the 90's and 100's. Fall is cooler and the colors are spectacular, especially here in the rural center of Missouri. Winter is a snow lovers' paradise here, and the softly falling snow on the meadows and fields cannot compare!
Most homes out here are older and have been built on larger lots, prices though are extremely reasonable and you won't find a better deal than here in Lamar! The best part is that you can still commute, but be home in the country in time for dinner!
