St. Peters, MissouriSt. Peters began as a French Traders grant some two hundred years ago and developed into a prosperous farming community, settled primarily by German Catholics through the 19th century. The city was incorporated as a village in February 1910 and as a city in 1959. St. Peters is a dynamic area with a strong healthy base of retail businesses, manufacturers, national and international companies, excellent schools, medical facilities, and recreation areas. The city has a new community recreation center know as the St. Peters REC-PLEX. The new Rec-Plex, a 124,000 square foot family-oriented sports facility is located on 65-acres adjacent to City Hall. Included in the facility are: an indoor Olympic-sized competitive swimming and diving pool with a separate leisure pool, ice rink, gymnasium with elevated running track, weight room, dance/aerobics room, and food court with observatory.
