Hastings was fortunate to have the very first IMAX theatre in Nebraska. The 200 seat facility presents films of outstanding entertainment and educational value on a screen 75' wide and five stories tall! The IMAX is a feature of the Hastings Museum, one of the midwest's finest natural museums. The J.M. McDonald planetarium is also located in the museum. Hastings is the only community in greater Nebraska with a full symphonic orchestra.
