Nevada Real Estate & Relocation Guide
Elko, Nevada
Population: 16,708
Located in Elko County
Elko, Nevada has been termed "a small town in splendid isolation." Not long ago, it was named "Best Small Town in America." If you want to experience the real west, with working cowboys, huge sky, and grand mountains, or to look for gold, or try your luck at a casino, or even relocate to a place with no state income tax and unbelievable views, you'll find the region full of pleasant surprises.
Elko County has more music and other entertainment per capita than maybe anywhere else in the world. It's still the wild west, after all, and it's Nevada, definitely a place to kick up your heels. The Elko Convention Center is a splendid facility, home of world-famous Cowboy Poetry Gathering in January and the Mine-Expo. Be sure to visit the Northeast Nevada Museum and the Western Folklife Center while you're in town.
Northeastern Nevada casinos, of course, are open round-the-clock for gambling and gaming. Check out the Stockmen's and the Red Lion Casino.
