Located in Merrimack County
"At the Crossroads of New Hampshire," Bow is located at the junctions of I-89 and I-93. Abutting the Capitol City of Concord, it also serves as a suburb of the state's largest city, Manchester, 12 miles to the south. Primarily a residential community of upscale homes on 1 to 3 acres in attractive subdivisions, it maintains its original rural flavor through strong zoning and planning ordinances and active conservation programs. As of mid-1998 home values ranged from $100,000 to $400,000 with some homes valued over $1 million. Industry is centered along Route 3-A, and the town benefits from the substantial tax contribution of a Public Service Electric generating plant. Always fiscally conservative, the Town enjoys one of the lowest tax rates in New Hampshire. In 1997 Bow opened its own 300 student senior high school. Most of the residents' services for shopping, medical, etc. are obtained in Concord, just to the north. Bow, New Hampshire |
