Settled in 1772, Bradford was incorporated just nine days after the Constitution was adopted in 1787. Today Bradford’s history and charm combine to offer guests a warm and entertaining visit.

Bement Covered Bridge, spanning the west branch of the Warner River, was built in 1854 at a cost of $500! Today it remains an attraction for passers by. Its location at Center Road just off Route 103 makes it visible and accessible from the highway. Walk, bike or drive through and experience a disappearing piece of New England history.

Turn back the clocks as you enter Historic Bradford Center, the old center of town. Visit the Bradford Historical Society for background to enrich your visit to this picturesque area. Here you may learn about our past and see for yourself how it is being preserved today.

Fourteen of New Hampshire’s tallest white pines are still growing in Bradford. These towering beauties exemplify the virgin forest that once covered most of Southern New Hampshire. Tall Pines Scenic Area is near the junction of Route 103 and Main Street. Park at the rest area and stroll the ¼-mile trail.
