Located in the heart of Merrimac County, New Hampshire, Henniker evokes memories of times gone by. In fact in many cases you may feel like you have been transported into another century! This area is renowned for its wonderful seasonal changes, and especially for the fall colors. Each autumn, the area's tree-studded landscape bursts with glorious, fiery color, and people come from all over the world to see it. From state parks right in the heart of Henniker to Pats Peak Ski Mountain, not far from Henniker for people to enjoy their winter skiing. There are plenty of small rivers around that offer fishing and canoeing. This town has a fairly small population, comprising around 4,221 people. It also includes the villages of Colby, Henniker, Henniker Junction, West Henniker Emerson Station, and is called fondly by the locals as "the only Henniker on earth." Concord, one of the larger cities in New Hampshire is not far off, only a few minutes drive in fact, and this provides great opportunities for employment, and many former residents of Concord have moved to the Henniker area, in order to enjoy the peace and quiet of the country, to escape the hustle and bustle of city life, but to still be close enough to their places of employment. If New Hampshire is where you are looking to move, you cannot go wrong in moving to Henniker - there is no place quite like it, and once you come, you will never want to leave!
