Hollis, New Hampshire

Like other surrounding towns, Hollis was a part of Dunstable. In 1739 it became West Dunstable. In 1746 the town formally became known as Hollis, sometimes spelled Holles. Today, the town's classic architecture, which lends a charming colonial atmosphere, makes Hollis one of the most desirable communities in which to live.

Hollis' shopping area consists of Hollis Village Market Place, Brookdale Fruit Farm and convenience stores. There are many specialty shops in the surrounding towns and larger shopping malls in Nashua. The area business community has much to offer the consumer and homeowner.

There is plenty of recreation to enjoy in Hollis such as, public playgrounds, athletic fields, one tennis court and swimming at Silver Lake State Park. Beaver Brook Association offers hiking and nature programs year round and cross-country skiing. Other recreational and cultural opportunities include Temple Mountain Ski Area, Hampshire Hills Sports & Fitness Club, the Nashua Symphony, the New Hampshire Symphony, and, in Manchester, the Currier Gallery.
