New Hampshire Real Estate & Relocation Guide

Weare, New Hampshire

Population: 7,776

Located in Hillsborough County

Weare, New Hampshire is in the Merrimack Valley region. The Merrimack Valley Region's past is every bit as colorful as its maple trees in fall. A century and a half ago, the red brick mill communities welcomed immigrants from Greece, Canada, Ireland, and around the world.

The Merrimack Valley Region is every bit as diverse as its people. It is the major center for government and business in the state. In this area you can find yourself in some of the most peaceful and scenic countryside in the state, from Canterbury, where a Shaker village graces a hillside, to Allenstown, where Bear Brook State Park is located, and Derry, where poet Robert Frost once lived and wrote.

There are popular attractions, too, including Salem's Canobie Lake Park and Rockingham Park, a thoroughbred race track. Not far away is Pats Peak Ski Mountain where people come to enjoy their winter skiing. There are plenty of small rivers and lakes around this region that offer fishing and canoeing.

This town has a fairly small population, comprising around 7,800 people. Concord, one of the larger cities in New Hampshire is not far off, only a few minutes drive in fact, and this provides great opportunities for employment, and many former residents of Concord have moved to the Weare area, in order to enjoy the peace and quiet of the country, to escape the hustle and bustle of city life, but to still be close enough to their places of employment.

Weare has a lovely downtown area called Fountain Square which evokes the images of small towns gone by, and will remind you of a movie set that displays scenes from the 1950's. You will feel like you have stepped back in time as you drive through the covered bridge over the Contoocook River into the town itself.

Weare is a small town that is going places! If you want a place where you feel welcome from the moment you come in, then you will not go wrong with Weare! People are friendly and welcoming, and they are ready to welcome you!
