This town is located in a semi-rural area and has the distinction of being a college town, the home of Raritan Valley Community College with a 250-acre campus and nearly 5,000 full and part-time students. This is a great town for families because of its educational bias. Recreation: Fishing in many of our Rivers can make for an exciting day and a plentiful catch with Branchburg's great fishing holes. 20 minutes drive from Branchburg is access to Round Valley and Spruce Run Reservoirs for boating and fishing. In addition, if you're a History buff there is Washington Headquarters in Morristown, which is approximately a 30-minute drive. Branchburg is also the home of the Red Schoolhouse and the Ten Eyck House. Transportation: Other major roadways within Branchburg Township are county roads 637, 614, 641, 523 Spur, 629, and 567. These roadways provide access to northern and southern New Jersey as well as to Pennsylvania and New York. There is also a train service available in North Branch (a part of Branchburg), Raritan, or Somerville on the New Jersey Transit to Newark/New York City. Branchburg is a growing community and one that is catering to the needs of the residents of the township. With its varied activities that suit the four seasons and its many historic sites, it is certainly a town worth living in!
