Odetta ~ "A Legend for All Time", Friday, February 14 at 7:30 pm ~ Main Theatre
Odetta is always and forever - and one of the most admired and influential artists of the 20th century. Her deep passion for American folk music arose from her belief in its uniqueness - "derived from a combination of peoples...from every continent and every country." Odetta was awarded the National Medal of the Arts & Humanities by President Clinton in 1999, one day prior to the 50th Anniversary of her performing career. In 2000, her 27th album Blues Everywhere I Go won her a Grammy nomination. For info on this event or others, and a series brochure call: (201) 447-7428
