Accelerated courses, enabling students to complete their educational program in a shorter time span, will be more readily available. A work-study program in the Vocational-Education Department is available to high school seniors. This enables them to learn and explore career interests prior to graduation.

The needs of severely disabled students are met through the programs provided in the Special Education services. A summer school program offers remedial assistance and enrichment courses in various subject areas for students in grades K-12. Opportunity also exists for students in their senior year of high school to enroll in courses at Middlesex County College.

With Highland Park at the Crossroads of New Jersey, numerous other colleges and universities are within an hour of our community. They include Rutgers University, Cook College, Douglass College, Drew University, Fairleigh Dickinson University, Kean University, University of Medicine and Dentistry of NJ (UMDNJ), Montclair University, Princeton University, Rider University, Monmouth University, NJ Institute of Technology (NJIT), and numerous county colleges.
