Mantua Township is an area rich in history. Incorporated in 1853, Mantua Township has grown into a township composed of four distinct areas, Mantua Township, Barnsboro, Sewell and Centre City. Located just south of Woodbury, Mantua Township consists of approximately 20 square miles and has an approximate population of just over 14,000.
