This 24 square mile township is home to everyone from surgeons to secretaries offering the quiet of suburbia and all the bonuses of city life. Wayne is serviced by many hospitals with one located within its borders. It boasts William Paterson University that not only educates but also, offers Wayne residents' cultural experiences within its Shea Center for the performing arts. The schools are rated high on state testing. With 48,000 residents being serviced, Wayne has two High Schools, two intermediate schools for 6th - 8th grades, and 8 elementary schools. Throughout the township there are many small to average size malls, as well as the Willowbrook Mall (located in the southernmost part of the Wayne with access from major highways) bringing shoppers from neighboring counties as well as N.Y. And many national and international corporations are located here provide excellent employment opportunities. Separated from the hustle and bustle of shopping and commercial areas are the residential sections. Wayne also offers three public swimming facilities for its residents. Included within the town are private and public golf courses.
