Alexandria Central School is located in Alexandria Bay, New York, a small summer resort village located on the beautiful St. Lawrence, on the Canadian border. The school district has one large complex which presently houses 736 kindergarten through grade 12 students with a highly trained and dedicated teaching staff of 57 full-time personnel. The district also has an excellent resource room program with three full-time special education teachers and two full-time aides. About 87% percent of the students are transported to and from school daily. The school offers many extracurricular and interscholastic activities. Sixty percent of its graduates enroll in schools of higher learning. The average class size in the K-8 program is 18-20 and the 9-12 program averages 17.
