The Town of Hamburg, in Erie County, has a population of approximately 56,259, an area of 42 square miles, and is located on the beautiful shore of Lake Erie, 11 miles south of the City of Buffalo. Residents find employment in industrial and service industries within the Town and Metropolitan Buffalo. Police and fire protection, along with highway, sanitation, recreation, sewage services and facilities, are provided for the area by the Town or special districts under the supervision of the Town Board. The Villages of Blasdell and Hamburg are contained within the Town's boundaries. The Buffalo Niagara International Airport is a 20 minute drive from Hamburg, on the New York State Thruway.
