Horseheads, NY is a small village nestled in the southern region of New York State in an area known as the Finger Lakes because of the unusualness of the shape of the lakes that extend all the way from Pennsylvania to Canada.
Horseheads is an interesting name, and history shows that during the American Revolution, General Sullivan, on a campaign against the Iroquois Tribes, traveled through the area in 1779. Upon his return, his troops mercifully killed some 300 badly injured horses. Ten years later, the first settlers of the area discovered the bleached skulls of the horses.
