A culturally rich city of 67,000 steeped in a colorful history, New Rochelle is one of the oldest cities in the Northeast. Throughout its history New Rochelle has attracted outstanding and talented residents, one of the earliest was Thomas Paine author of "Common Sense". This city is truly a "City of Homes, Schools, and Houses of Worship" as described on signposts designed by Norman Rockwell. There are some of the most beautiful homes in Westchester County, 40 houses of worship, excellent public, private, and parochial school systems plus two outstanding colleges, Iona & College of New Rochelle.

There are 9 miles of waterfront, beaches & marinas as well as 230 acres devoted to 41 parks and 100 acres devoted to a nature preserve. In New Rochelle there is the private Wykagyl Golf Club, home to a Ladies PGA stop on tour and 5 public courses are in the surrounding area. Numerous beach and tennis clubs dot the shore line. A County beach and recreational facility Glen Island Park is also in New Rochelle. New Rochelle is about 28 minutes from midtown Manhattan on Metro North's New Haven Line. There is parking at the train station.
