Come Visit Pulaski, New York!! Our area is rich with hardwood forests, pristine waters, rolling country sides, and quaint historic villages! We're ready and waiting to welcome the weary traveler, or to become home to a family looking to join our community. Pulaski, today, is nearby the cities of Oswego, Watertown, and Syracuse. U.S. route 11 and State rte. 3, along with the Interstate 81, are the principal highways, with Conrail going through to Massena from Syracuse, and is a small community of approximately 2,550 residents.

A major resource of the Pulaski area has always been the Salmon River, on whose banks Pulaski was built. The harvesting of Atlantic Salmon in record numbers led to an introduction a hundred years later of Pacific Coho, Chinook, and steelhead. A sports fishery has now been created with a large hatchery near Pulaski.

Local industries include Schoeller Technical Papers, Inc., and Fulton Boiler Works, Inc. Schoeller makes photographic paper and card stock for Hallmark, Inc. and Konica. Fulton produces boilers for laundry equipment, which also sold abroad.

Our community boasts excellent schools, a world-class fishery, sumptuous dining, comfortable lodging, varied shopping venues, exceptional outdoor recreational activities, and a thriving business environment. The schools feature some of the finest elementary, middle, and high schools in the state and the country. If your child is not quite ready for "Real School" we also offer a wonderful progressive State approved Day Care Center .

Have you ever met a massive centuries-old Sugar Maple? Witnessed thick clouds of mist swirl through the trees like a pack of ghosts? Or come face-to-face with a 110 foot waterfall? With over 187 varieties of flowers and trees, there's no telling what you'll find in over 20,000 acres of pristine land including the Salmon River Falls.

Birdwatchers pack your binoculars, and field guide. You're about to have a field day with over 174 species of birds to discover including Bald Eagles, and our very own Osprey nest. Head for Derby Hill, one of the best places in North America to watch migrating Raptors.

The region has been called the land of trails. Newly developed trails criss-cross the region, providing hikers, mountain bikers, and even horseback riders miles of novice to expert trails through forests, meadows, and wetlands both on private and public lands. And when the trail opens up on that golden meadow, and the bird chirping is positively deafening, it may be the perfect time to have that picnic lunch. From nature gazing to trail blazing, choose your own pace, and watch out for frog crossings.

Have your kids ever felt minnows nibbling at their toes? Or swung off a branch to go splashing into a crisp clear lake? Once they're in the water, you may have a hard time getting them out.

Maybe it's finally time you took a shot at catching the next 33 pound world record Coho Salmon, hook a 16 pound Trout fly fishing in the headwaters of the Salmon River, or land "the big one" on Lake Ontario. Or try scuba diving for old shipwrecks in Lake Ontario. Or maybe you'll just settle back and enjoy the spawning show at the NYSDEC Fish Hatchery open to the public. There is no end to what you can do in our community.

The colors of our autumns aren't limited to the leaves. You'll find them in the silvery-glittery sheen of the Rainbow Trout, in the wings of the Red Crossbill, in the plump, red apples hanging in dozens of nearby orchards along the shores of Lake Ontario, and in the pumpkins along roadside stands.

Welcome to the region with the greatest snowfall east of the Rockies. It comes with over 278 miles of groomed and marked snowmobiles trails within the county linking to the expansive Tug Hill Region to the Adirondacks. We also offer hundreds of miles of both groomed and backcountry cross-country ski trails, and a virtual free for all for snow-shoers and dogsledders alike. No wonder they call it the snowy paradise.

And then there is the housing! The housing market is flourishing, but more than that, it is extremely affordable. This community offers everything from a starter home with two or three bedrooms for $60,000, all the way into the millions for the home of your dreams, perhaps right on the banks of the lake, and everything in between! Pulaski is a town full of diversity, and proud of it. It shows up in all sectors, but especially in the housing market.

With all this and so much more, is it any wonder that Pulaski is one of the "hot-spots" for nature lovers the world over! Why not come over and check us out? You'll fall in love.
