New York Real Estate & Relocation Guide
Sloatsburg, New York
Population: 3,117
Located in Rockland County
The Village of Sloatsburg, comprising approximately 2.5 square miles, is primarily residential, consisting almost exclusively of single-family, detached homes. Zoning became effective in the mid fifties with the adoption of the Village’s master plan and zoning ordinance. Sloatsburg is bounded on the east by the Harriman State Park, on the west by the New Jersey State Park, to the south by the State of New Jersey and north to the finger lakes region.
We are a small community nestled in the foothills of the Ramapo Mountains. We are surrounded by several State Parks which offer hiking, swimming, boating, camping, skiing and a glimpse into the past. At the end of your day, make sure to stop by one of our eateries to digest all that you have seen.
What makes us different from many other communities is that we cherish our country feel and look to preserve the history of our village.
Sloatsburg's local businesses fulfill all your needs but if you care to venture out, we are centrally located within a 25 minute drive of all major shopping areas from the malls on Route 17, the Palisades Mall in West Nyack, and Woodbury Commons in Harriman NY.
