Knightdale is evenly mixed between families that have been here for generations and those who have relocated to this area. Both of these groups are united in keeping Knightdale's small town character as a trademark. The NCDOT continues plans to construct two major limited access freeways in the area: the East Wake Expressway and US HWY 64 Bypass. These roads will greatly improve access to Knightdale from other parts of the Triangle, including Research Triangle Park and Raleigh-Durham Airport.
