Berea is a historic community located approximately 12 miles south of Cleveland, Ohio and 2 miles South of Cleveland's Hopkins International Airport in Cuyahoga County. Established in 1836, the town has a rich history in sandstone quarries, education, and transportation. The vein of superior quality sandstone which surfaces in the area became known the world over as "Berea Stone". Today, Berea is situated within 5 minutes of Interstate Highways, an International Airport and other big city amenities that make living here very attractive.

Our education system is committed to preparing its students for college, technical schools, and the workplace. The Berea City School District has 2 high schools, 2 middle schools, 7 elementary schools, and a large joint vocational school. Berea also has 2 Catholic schools, St. Mary's established in 1860 and St. Adelbert's established in 1873.

Situated near the middle of Berea is the distinguished campus of Baldwin Wallace College. Founded in 1845, Baldwin Wallace College offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in; Business Administration, Education, Health and Physical Education, Humanities, Music, Science and Mathematics, and Social Science.

Berea has a wide range of housing available, from its modest cozy bungalows on tree lined streets, to new, custom, executive style houses recently built. Some sections of old Berea still feature century style homes under a canopy of maple and oak trees. If you prefer apartment or multi-family dwellings, those are also available. Most housing is within walking or biking distance to the Metroparks and shopping.

The Berea Recreation Center is open to residents, for a very modest fee. Activities include an indoor pool, weight and exercise rooms, basketball court, running track, locker rooms with showers and sauna. Many organized programs are offered year round.

The Triangle offers a unique retail opportunity. Many established shops, banks, and restaurants already provide a reason to be located downtown. The Commons has some excellent retail frontage supported by many professional offices. The Triangle also has retail stores and offices including a bakery, clock shop, financial services, sandwich shops, pizza shops, music store, dry cleaners, florist, physicians and automotive service.

Located across the Rocky River from the Downtown Triangle, River Park Center is anchored by a Giant Eagle Supermarket. Also in the center is a coffee house, ice cream shop, hair salons, and jewelry store. The east side of Park Street houses restaurants, an art gallery, newspaper, dance studio, paint & wallpaper store and more professional offices.
