Fairview Park, located approximately 8 miles from downtown Cleveland, is bounded on the west by North. Olmsted, on the north by Rocky River on the east and south by the Rocky River Reservation of the Metro parks System. Its official incorporation took place in September 1910. There were approximately 35 families and 300 people living in Fairview at that time. In 1948, the name was changed to Fairview Park, and in 1951 the village became a city. Fairview Park enjoys a typical Midwestern climate. Average temperature during the winter month's stay in the twenty degree range with enough snow and chill in the air to enjoy the city's ice rinks and sledding areas.
