You know Galion is a special destination as you approach and see the historic architecture of our community. Galion is set in the heart of north central Ohio among some of the most productive farmland there is. A haven for its residents who know its small town charm and friendliness while being close to Ohio's leading major metropolitan areas of Cleveland, Columbus and Toledo.
It is worth the trip to Galion just to see our revitalization efforts. A private/public partnership has turned $800,000 in grant funds into a $7,800,000 investment for our Historic Uptowne. Fine Italianate architecture has been brought back to its original beauty and creates an inviting framework for our Uptowne district.
Galion boasts the world headquarters to PECO II, Inc. a major telecommunications power provider. Galion has a diverse manufacturing base that provides products to Ford, Freightliner, and Honda as well as manufacturing refuse collection equipment, storage tanks for truck chassis, snow plows for highway equipment and hydraulic cylinders.
Galion City School District boasts over $500,000 in scholarships awarded each year to graduating seniors. The district is also proud to be building all new school buildings, made possible through the Ohio Schools Facilities Commission and the generous support of our community.
Galion truly is a great place to live, work and own a business!
