Hamilton is the county seat of Butler and an important regional center of business, industry and government. Hamilton has a strong economy due to its manufacturing and service sectors. Local companies produce paper, metal fabrications, machinery, steel, industrial chemicals, and automotive parts. The manufacturing companies, with the help of the insurance industry, is responsible for the city's growing economy. Hamilton has plenty of recreational opportunities for everyone. We have two YMCA centers, two golf courses, swimming pools, tennis courts, a bird and wildlife sanctuary, several bike paths, a BMX track, and a regulation-size hockey/ice skating rink available for public use. The Hamilton City School District, made up of 14 elementary schools, 3 junior high schools, and one high school, has an enrollment of more than 10,000 students. Additionally there are nine parochial schools located within Hamilton, including Stephen T. Badin High School. Two vocational schools operate in the Hamilton area, including the Hamilton Job Development Center and the Butler County Joint Vocational School.

Hamilton offers access, via State Route 4 and Bypass State Route 4, to a variety of interstate highways, including I-75, I-71, I-275, and I-74. The Michael A. Fox Highway (State Route 129), a limited access 4-lane divided highway provides Hamilton with direct access to I-75.

Air Transport: Located 35 miles south of Hamilton is the Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport, offering 540 daily flights, including nonstop flights to 110 cities around the world. Dayton International Airport, located 45 miles northeast of Hamilton, offers over 85 daily flights, including nonstop flights to 23 cities.

The Butler County Regional Airport, located in Hamilton, provides air taxi service to and from the Dayton and Cincinnati airports, and has been designated to accommodate even the most demanding corporate flight departments. The 5,500 foot, 100 foot wide paved runway, is equipped with Localizer DME, NDB, and GPS approaches. Executive and corporate hangers are available for long-term or overnight storage.

Today, Hamilton is the governmental, financial, industrial, and cultural center of Butler County. With a population of over 61,000, the city offers the cultural amenities and history of a large city in a suburban setting.
