Lebanon, Ohio Relocation Guide

Settled in 1796 and the historic heart of the Little Miami Valley, Lebanon tempts you with its 19th century ambiance. Downtown's cornerstone is The Golden Lamb, Ohio's oldest inn and restaurant, which has hosted 10 U.S. presidents and many other prominent citizens. Now nationally famous for its Shaker furnishings and fine American fare, the Inn once served as a hub of stagecoach activity in the 1800s. Stroll along the downtown area's brick sidewalks as you browse in more than 50 antique and unique shops.

Lebanon's history was largely influenced by a Shaker community a few miles out of town. The Robert and Virginia Jones Shaker collection is one of the finest in the nation and is displayed at the Warren County Historical Society Museum (free on Sundays, third Sunday monthly). The Glendower State Memorial, a stately Greek Revival mansion built as a residence in 1835, is now a museum furnished in period pieces from Warren County's past.

Lebanon's Applefest in September and the Historic Lebanon Christmas Festival in December celebrate the city's past and present.

Fort Ancient State Memorial, just outside of Lebanon, is the site of the nation's largest hilltop enclosure constructed by the Hopewell (moundbuilders) culture. Fort Ancient's newly expanded and renovated museum explores Ohio's entire Indian heritage, from prehistory to the present.
