Population: 8,904 Located in Stark County
The city's population has steadily increased during the last 100 years, with the most active growth occurring in the 1920s and 1950s. Even when every other city in Stark County lost population, Louisville continued to grow. When Louisville passed the 5,000 population mark in the 1950s, its status changed form a village to a city. Currently, 8,300 residents proudly call Louisville home. Louisville Senior High School, located at 1201 South Nickel Plate, serves the ninth, tenth, eleventh and twelfth grade students in the district. We are proud to have many National Merit Scholars, outstanding band and choir programs, a nationally recognized speech team and competitive athletic teams. Louisville High School students have the opportunity to attend several vocational education offerings through R.G. Drage Career Center in addition to the outstanding curriculum on campus. It is a credit to these programs that approximately two-thirds of our graduates attend institutes of higher education. |
