Lyndhurst is conveniently situated near I-271, allowing residents quick access to the big-city amenities of Cleveland and the surrounding suburbs. Originally an agricultural town, Lyndhurst got its name from the town of Lyndhurst, New Jersey in 1920. After WWII growth in the town began to take off, mainly due to improved transportation systems in the area. Today, Lyndhurst is not very industrialized, but does have a large number of retail companies. TRW located its headquarters near Lyndhurst in 1980.
