The village of Powell also offers the conveniences of a larger metropolitan area with easy access to Columbus, Northwest Franklin County, and Delaware. Coming in the near future to Powell will be the construction of a municipal office center and a branch of the Delaware County Library. The City's strategic location in southern Delaware county has promoted its development as a semi-rural, suburban, greenbelt town. Residential developments, combined with open space preservation and minimized commercial and industrial development, has made Powell one of the premier residential communities within Central Ohio.
