Riverside is in the heart of Dayton, right on the River Mad. It is known as the gateway to the Unites States Air Force Museum. As one of the nation's premier tourist attractions, the Museum attracts over one million visitors per year.

Riverside is surrounded by beauty on all sides, the river on one side, and the Eastwood Lake and Park on the other. This park comprise one of the largest recreation areas in the immediate Dayton area. Owned and maintained by the Five Rivers Metro Parks, Eastwood provides a variety of opportunities for boating, fishing, hiking, and picnicking.

Several other attractions and cultural arts grace the area, including the Dayton Museum of Natural History/Children's Museum of Dayton, Dayton Art Institute, Dayton Ballet, and the internationally-acclaimed Dayton Contemporary Dance Company (DCDC).

Riverside offers easy access to local, state and national transportation networks. Several intra- and interstate highways intersect close by. Conveniently located entrances to those major transportation routes provide speedy commutes. In addition, nearby Dayton International Airport serves as the hub for the largest 90-minute air travel market in the United States. Several air freight companies service the area.

One of the major advantages that Riverside has is that it located next door to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base (WPAFB). Twenty-four thousand military and civilian employees work at the Base, making it the largest single-site employer in the State of Ohio. High-level research in avionics, composite materials, and aircraft design takes place at the Base. Several area firms have successfully "spun off" private-sector applications that were first developed at the Base for military use.

The Greater Dayton region also boasts many large corporate and industrial employers. These include Delphi Automotive, General Motors, NCR Corp, Reynolds + Reynolds, Lexis-Nexis and Daimler Chrysler.

Riverside is proud of its high-quality school district. The middle school in the Mad River Local School District, which educates over 80% of Riverside's children, has been designated as a "National School of Excellence" by the US Department of Education. The school district offers coursework in both college preparatory studies and vocational studies. In fact, Stebbins High School is one of only 25 comprehensive secondary education facilities in the State of Ohio. Area colleges and universities offer several hundred different degree programs. The University of Dayton, Wright State University, the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT), and Sinclair Community College together offer degree programs in many different fields.

Riverside is a popular place, and it's not hard to see why! Right in the middle of the action, this little city within a city has everything going for it.
