It is home to the new Polaris Fashion Place, the Columbus Zoo, and of course The Little Brown Jug. The Little Brown Jug is one of the premier events in harness racing that is held every year at the Delaware County Fair during the third week of September. And if you enjoy animals, maybe you would enjoy visiting the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium. The zoo is located in Delaware County, and is nationally known for its wonderful exhibits. Right next door to the zoo is Wyandot Lake, a huge water amusement park. Be prepared to get wet and have fun if you venture there! Or maybe you would enjoy the cultural environment provided by a liberal arts university. Ohio Wesleyan University offers an annual Performing Arts and Lecture Series, and is the home base for the Central Ohio Symphony Orchestra which performs many annual concerts, including a Fourth of July concert prior to Delaware's fireworks display. The university also stages many drama productions, and hosts numerous musical events, in addition to hosting frequent student and faculty art exhibits. Or maybe you prefer shopping for antiques. The Delaware area is a great place to go hunting for those timeless treasures. And Sunbury, is the first place you can start, with many notable stores that specialize in all things old! But while Sunbury is in the shadow of Columbus, we still have our own identity, we still have a small town atmosphere, and you can still take a drive (or a bicycle ride) in the country! After you finish a hard day of work, Sunbury has plenty of fun things to offer. There are several outdoor recreation facilities. There are numerous golf clubs in the area, both public and private. Several state parks in the area offer swimming camping, fishing and boating. Sunbury offers housing to suit all tastes and needs. There is something for everyone - first-time home buyers, families ready to move up, older couples looking for a care-free lifestyle or executives in search of a spacious retreat. Century-old homes lend stately elegance to some sections of the city and the county. Many historic brick and frame homes are attractively restored. Modern condominiums, single-family houses and executive home sites add contemporary flair to other neighborhoods. The newer residential sections offer a variety of architecture in homes with three to five bedrooms, some with acreage. New homes are available in all price ranges, from tasteful tract developments to upscale custom designs. With all this and more, why not come and see why Sunbury and Delaware County have become the premiere place to live, not only in Ohio, but in the United States!
