Troy, Ohio is a prosperous industrial community located on the banks of the Great Miami River in Southwestern Ohio. Troy, with a population over 21,000, does not convey the impression of an industrial city, but rather that of a rural town, because of the wide, tree-lined streets, clean spacious yards and the absence of smoke and dirt usually associated with an industrial community. Throughout most of Troy's neighborhoods residents take walks around the block, hold block parties, and sit on the porch and talk. In recent years, Troy has been busy attracting new industries while keeping its past alive. Many national and international companies have chosen to build new plants in Troy. There is a wide range of industries. In the Troy City School District at the junior high and high school, each teacher is a specialist in his/her own subject area.
