Willowick is located in Lake County approximately 4 miles from Euclid and 17 miles from Cleveland on the coast of Lake Erie. The city covers approximately 1.75 square miles and is home to approximately 14,300 residents.

Willowick is a city rich in history, in the early 1803 as Ohio became a state, only a year later the city would be incorporated. Many of the historical sites of the town's beginning are still standing today, the building now known as "The Log Cabin Restaurant" was a hunting lodge in 1880. In 1911 the Willowick Golf Course opened across the street from Willoughbeach Park. And in 1921 the first area of mass home construction was advertised as Vinewood Beach. This area included Glen Aden Drive, Parkland Drive, West Lake Drive (now known as East 322nd Street), Glenwood Drive (now known as East 323rd Street), and Lakeland Drive (now known as East 324th street).

Willowick experienced its greatest period of growth from 1946 to about 1959. In 1960 - U.S. Census determined 18,749 people lived in Willowick. Today Willowick is home to just over 14,300 residents.
