Ponca City is a progressive, excellent to work, play, and live in! The community resources include fifty-nine churches of varying denominations, a 70,000 volume library, 27 parks, 16 tennis courts, 12 baseball and softball diamonds and more! Ponca City has also been repeatedly recognized by the Oklahoma State Historical Society for efforts in historical preservation. Ponca City is served by the Pioneer Technology Center with facilities located on a 40-acre tract within the Ponca City Industrial Complex. Many courses are offered ranging from Computerized Numerical Control (CNC) which trains individuals to program and operate the latest technological equipment in manufacturing, to practical nursing where students can receive their Licensed Practical Nursing Certification. Technical staff resources are available to help business firms in areas such as bid assistance and technology transfer. Services also include an ability to tailor special courses and onsite training to the work force needs of new or existing industry. Cann Memorial Garden is a 10 acre estate located in the heart of Ponca City at the Junction of Highway 77 and Grand Avenue. Donated to the city by Elsie Cann Brown in 1975, the gardens are gorgeous color coordinated beds of perennials, annuals and herbs.
