Molalla is a unique community where residents experience a relaxed, warm , and friendly atmosphere. Fishing, white water rafting, hunting and scores of other recreational opportunities abound n the Molalla area. Molalla is near the western foothills of the Cascade Mountain Range as it descends toward the Willamette Valley. Skiing on Mount Hood is within a 50 mile drive, while ocean beaches are about two hours away. Forests, farms, streams and rivers set a relaxed country atmosphere just a 15 minute drive east of the I-5 corridor between the busy Portland and Salem metropolitan areas. Portland, the largest city in the State and the hub of commercial and cultural affairs in the region, lies just 27 miles north of Molalla. Molalla is famous for it's annual Fourth Of July festivities including the premiere Molalla Buckaroo Rodeo and one of the largest parades in the state. Salem, the Capitol of Oregon and the State's third largest metropolitan area, lies just 25 miles south. Highway 211, which runs through the City, provides direct access west to Woodburn and the Interstate 5 Freeway. Running north-south, Highway 2123 links Molalla with Interstate 205 at the Molalla/Park Place exit.
