Founded in 1879 and incorporated in 1903, Willamina is a vibrant yet rural community nestled in the Coastal Hills of the western Willamette Valley that prides itself in its cultural and economic heritage. We are ?Timber Town USA? and proud of it!

Willamina is a community of around 2,000 people who love their town and it is easy to see why! Location is everything, and Willamina is ideally located not far from Salem and Portland to the east, and only a few minutes from the Pacific Ocean and Lincoln City to the west.

Willamina is also one of the picturesque towns in this region of Oregon, surrounded by rolling hills and the greenery of the mountains. Like nearby Sheridan, this town is popular for overnight stays in the local Bed and Breakfast establishments. Spirit Mountain Casino is only 12 miles away and Chinook Winds Casino is 40 miles. With wineries, galleries and antique shops all located throughout the Willamette Valley.

There are some historic homes in the town itself, all nicely preserved. When these home go up for sale, they generally sell for more than the average price of other homes in the area, but they are a great investment!

Willamina, like the rest of the Willamette Valley has a moderate, maritime climate with about 40 inches of annual rainfall, which is great for agriculture. Of course, for recreation there is plenty to do as well. From pristine golf courses, to hiking in the state parks, there is always something to do or see, no matter the season!

This part of the county is renowned for its excellent schools and for opportunities for further education, either locally, or further afield in other states. Portland has several excellent colleges and universities, and many students from the area choose to attend there.

Sheridan is a little piece of self-proclaimed paradise right in the heart of Yamhill County, south of Portland and only a short drive from the Pacific Ocean. Sheridan is best known for the number of Bed and Breakfast establishments that have sprung up in the area in recent years. This is due, in large part, to its central location.

There are a variety of things that can be done within the vicinity. For shopping and entertainment, there is Dallas, Salem, Lincoln City, and Portland. All of these places are between 15 and 60 minutes from Sheridan, and offer a range of activities.

Spirit Mountain Casino is 12 miles away and Chinook Winds Casino is 40 miles. With wineries, galleries and antique shops all located throughout the Willamette Valley. Of course, the beautiful coastal beaches of Oregon are only 40 minutes away in Lincoln City.

Sheridan has a moderate, maritime climate with about 40 inches of annual rainfall, which is great for agriculture. Of course, for recreation there is plenty to do as well. You can go skiing in the morning and kayaking in the afternoon, 12 months of the year!

Further education is something that is readily accessible to students in the local School District. With Portland not far away, and many other choices in colleges and universities in other Oregon or Washington State cities, there is a plethora of choices.
