For an escape to the Wild West, Sisters is the annual site of the PRCA sanctioned Sisters Rodeo. On the edge of town, the Deschutes National Forest offers a 1.6 million acre playground laced with miles and miles of trails, wet and wild rivers, and scenic drives and vistas. Fly fishermen will enjoy fishing on the Metolius River, home to rainbow trout, Dolly Varden (bull trout), and Kokane salmon. Hiking in the Three Sisters Wilderness Area is a scenic marvel. Lush alpine meadows and pristine lakes dot the landscape, and in early summer, beautiful wildflowers display a palette of nature's color. Golfers will be in paradise on the course at Black Butte Ranch. Just 10 miles west of Sisters, the Ranch features two 18 hole courses with some of the best golfing in Oregon, surrounded by outstanding views of Black Butte and the Cascades.
