Chambersburg, Pennsylvania

Chambersburg is located at the junction of US Routes 11 & 30, with Interstate 81 located alongside, and easy access to the Pennsylvania Turnpike. There is a small community airport in Chambersburg, and a regional airport 25 miles away in Hagerstown, with international airports in Baltimore, Washington, and Harrisburg being between 1.5 to 3 hour drive away.

Chambersburg lies between 2 mountain ranges in a valley approximately 24 miles wide. The Appalachian Trail travels through Michaux State Forest to the East and the Conococheague Creek and the Falling Spring meet in downtown Chambersburg. The Falling Spring is known as one of the finest trout streams on the East Coast; President Carter has fished here.

Confederate forces burned the center of the town in 1864 when residents refused to pay a ransom of $100,000 in gold. The Center Square now boasts a fountain with a Union soldier standing sentinel. This is celebrated with Chambersfest (a wonderfully diverse arts festival) every year in July. Email me for dates!
